It has been a while since I’ve updated… it’s not because I’m not on track with my 101 restaurants. In fact, I’m past the half way mark now, and it’s not even June yet! 🙂 I’ve been checking out new places as often as I can. Friends can’t mention a new place without me jumping down their throats – “Yes, let’s go! Now!” Price be damned. Distance be damned.
Having said that, somehow my enthusiasm in real life hasn’t been translating well onto the blog. I don’t write about my experiences because somehow other things get in the way. Studying for a standardized test that I may or may not need. Looking for a job that I may or may not get. Hanging out with friends that I like enough to keep hanging out with. You know…life.
But that’s not the whole story. You see, I get stuck when I sit down to write about my experiences because most of my experiences are positive. Sometimes the food is stellar. Sometimes the service is stellar. Sometimes I’m just in a good enough mood that bad service and/or bad food doesn’t upset me. Add to that, I’m running out of adjectives when it comes to food – there are only so many ways to gush about crispy salads, delicate sauces, comforting cheesiness of a pasta bake, no matter how true. There are even fewer ways to adequately describe service received: good, bad, mediocre, abrupt, annoying, condescending, warm, engaging, memorable. Again, no matter how true.
This is not to say I won’t be updating. This is to apologize in advance for the fact that I will be 🙂
